Very creative and cool.

I just want to note that, as a dime-store engineer :), that the massive heatsink, while a very cool idea, is probably not ideal for dissipating heat. That is not to say it won't dissipate ANY heat. The thickness of it, and the large fins, in relation to the integrated heatsink on the CPU, means that it's unlikely the surface area of the fins would do much convection.

Am I just way off or am I right about that?
 
I wonder if it's going to get the actual media from a NFS server. 128GB is very small for video, but overkill for a dedicated client. SLC is also overkill since properly configured, a media client would not actually write much.

The heatsink should work just fine as long as it's making proper contact.
