TH7-11 raid. single drive in ide3 slower than ide1????System slowdown?

Ok Abit th7-11 raid, when I put a single hardisk into ide3 on hpt370 controller, my mouse is slow, system is generally slow.

Swap it back to ide1 the primary ide controller and its fine.

I have hpt370 2.31 bios that came with board, I got latest drivers from Highpoint site, initially it was standard xp install.

I also noticed initially when I did have a raid setup that dragging files from an ata100 drive from the ide1 also slowed my system down..


Any drive, single or raid, using hpt370 slows whole system down

Any ideas whats going on

have you tried getting drivers from abit's website? (not htp...they are different)

Also, make sure the drive is in DMA mode, not PIO.
