What to do from here; skt 939 +3500
Finally, after months of RMA's and resorting to a POS Celeron, I have my A64 set up:
skt 939 +3500 130nm Newcastle
MSI K8N Neo2. Plat.
512mb PC3200 Patriot XBL
eVGA 6600GT AGP
400 Watt Rosewill PSU
XP Pro
After rubberbanding my 2.4 Celeron heatsink and a 80mm fan to my 6600gt, I OC'd with Coolbits to CPU: 550mHz Mem:1.06gHz, and that gets scores like so:
3dmark01: 18,490
3dmark03: 8,348
3dmark05: 3,279
Aquamark3: 51,814
Max CPU OC I've been able to pull was 11X215 at 1.55V, any more, and the lovely BSOD. Any way to get a better OC? I didn't buy XBL for nothin', so how can I push my RAM?
The stock AMD heatsink seems alright, with a copper base and aluminum fins, but it has a dinky 60mm fan. Has anyone modded it at all?
