So, what is it I should look at to be able to determine a good airbrush? Also, could I hook it up to my air compressor, or do I need a special one?

dual action is about all I can think of offhand... pasche and badger are good makers, you'll need a filter and will need to turn the pressure to about 10-25 psi.

If you're just starting to use an airbrush, I'd recommend against the dual action. But, Pasche and Badger are both really good makes. I'd also suggest you get thinner hosing than what you normallly attach to your air compressor. :)
