I am currently building a new system for a friend. With the budget he has allowed me I have 3 choices for a video card.

1.GF4 Ti4200 w/64mb mem
2.GF3 Ti200 pro w/128mb mem
3.Radeon 9000 pro w/128 mb mem

All are within $2 of each other($113-$115). He will be mostly using this rig for gameplay. Which in your opinions for the money is the best buy?
BTW, this will most likely be running with a epox8k5a2+,XP2000,and 256mb pc2700.
Thanks.

either save soem money and get an 8500LE for 85$ or get the Ti4200 115$ aint a bad price for it

I was concidering the 8500le as well. How does it compare to the Ti4200? Ive heard that picture quality is better with the 8500 but that the 4200 was faster.

well, the 8500LE is a lot better than the 9000Pro and Ti200, yet 15% slower than the Ti4200

SOrta LIke this:

Radeon 8500= Better bang for buck, faster than 900...Bit slower than ti 4200, but better picture quality to most people..
Geforce3 ti 200=doesnt need to be compared against the other 2.
Geforce 4 ti 4200= Fastest of all, more expensive, but only has 64meg ram, 128 is prefered for most games now days with textures getting so complex..

my 2 cents..laterz..

The reason I thew the Ti200 in there is because its a 128mb card. Guess that still doesnt make a difference compared to the others?

I'd go with the Ti4200. I have one with 64 mb, and I can play any game with a high framerate and all settings maxed out. This probably won't last for long with newer games, but it should be enough for a year and maybe two.
