I currently have a D link wireless router. I'm trying to narrow down the best bang for my buck desktop card for under $70. If possible, I'd like it under $40. My apartment is an "L" shape so the connection is either going through two outside walls or just around the corner.

I heard matching a desktop pci card brand name with your brand name router is the best option. I work at Compusa so the only D link desktop we have is this one: http://www.compusa.com/products/pro...code=338018&Pn=Wireless_G_Desktop_PCI_Adapter

Otherwise I was looking on newegg at these three:

that doesnt really make a difference. you can mix and match anything, the wireless network will not broadcast anything to do with the brand... (apart from maybe the default SSID which you can change)

USB sticks are normally quite good, the d-link DWL-G122 is cheap and pretty good.
