Hi,

I'm helping a friend build up a new pc. It will be a core 2 duo with only a mild overclock at most.

I'm just wondering over motherboards. I havn't looked into C2D mobos at all before now because i don't own a C2D. At the moment the Asus P5B looks good, but i'm also interested in the nvidia chipsets.

So my basic question is this, What are the good boards for core 2 duo in reputation for overclocking, ram compatability and overall stability?

We are probably not going to use SLI, so thats not nesseary. The proc will be a E6400 4mb, and the gpu will be an 8800GTS.

Thanks in advance, Hip.

e6400 is 2mb's unless you friend is looking at the e6600. well if your going sli then dont get a NV based board. thats one of the main reasons to get one.

i would suggest looking at these mobo's
with raid on the mobo:
abit ab9-pro
asus p5b-e (vdimm is only 2.1 max)

with out raid on the mobo:
abit ab9
gigabyte 965p-s3
biostar tforce 965p
