Hello everyone! Have a few questions to ask. I currently have a P4 and am going to upgrade to a C2Q by the end of the year. So I decided to start slowly buying a few new things like a PSU, Case, and build a WC setup.

This is what my setup is so far
Rad: http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcqposerab1.html
Cpublock: http://www.petrastechshop.com/dfuuncpubl1.html
Pump: http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcin12pu.html
Tubing: http://www.petrastechshop.com/7id5odmagepu.html
Res: http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmchire.html

So here are my questions
1) Is there anything missing in my setup or something I should change?
2) I noticed the rad has plastic barbs is that a problem and should be changed out?
3) What speed Yateloon fans should I use with this Rad in a pull config, I see they have a good deal on them at this site.

4) Will the Cpu block work for a P4 and will I be able to reuse it down the road for a C2Q
5) Any problems with mixed metals that could cause corrosion?

I would recommend you get a better rad instead of Swiftech. Swfitech does make good rads but Black Ice and Thermochill makes better rads.

setup looks good!
that block should work for your setup currently and intels penryn (should be around later this year depending on when you buy) as well as phantom, if that shows up.

on the radiators... i would say its basically between the swiftechs and the thermos right now unless you like to soak your rad ever month to get the fuzzies out of it. i currently have 2 MCR-320's and a pa 120.3 and they both work really well. The thermo wins but not in price, better to get 2 mcr-320s than one pa 120.3 imo.

Just so you know those prices are not the lowest, and as you seem to be on a budget i highly suggest shopping around.

Your set-up looks good to me!

No metal problems so you can keep the anti-freeze to a minimum. A little aquarium algaecide, a few drops of iodine, and some distilled water is all you should need. If you want you can add a little (1-3%) anti-freeze or water wetter as you see fit ...

Where is this coming from? I have been heavily researching a water set-up for the last month. Everything I have seen recommends Swiftech radiators if Thermochills are out of the budget.

One thing if you ever decide to add your graphics card to your loop just be sure and ONLY get a chip covering block, ramsinks have been shown too cool better than those 140$ blocks

From what I've seen most people recommend the Swiftech because what little difference there is in better performance by the Black Ice is offset by the maintenance issues with it. But that's just my $0.02 - I use heater cores without exception.

I have no use for "aesthetics" (though 1/3 of a can of spray paint resolves that if preferred), DIY mounting is easy (#10x3" bolts will go through the fins and self-thread into most 120mm fans), and at $20 a pop they beat every computer rad out there for price v performance. If a shroud is preferred 1/8" foam board is plenty stiff, comes in a variety of colors, and can be bound together with clear 3M packing tape - the paper comes off the foam board before the tape will. The only draw-back to heater cores is their thickness - at 2" it may present an installation problem for some cases/configurations.

And I still don't understand why someone would take perfectly good, restriction free 1/2" copper pipe in/outlets and add a 1/2" barb to them ... :-/

Which rad would be better other then a thermochill, I do not want to spend double the price. Im not so much on a budget but double the price for a rad just does not seem worth it. Thanks so much for the helpfull responses!

Agreed. Get an MCR320 if you cant afford a PA120.3
