RedRumy3 WaterCooling Thread :D

Well,

i use to have watercooling back in the p4's day but now i don't know anything about new watercooling, so im looking to actually go watercooling again and plan to just watercool my cpu for now and maybe move onto gpu watercooling.

Was thinking of buying a 9800GTX but now i want watercooling. :)

so i was wondering how much will a decent watercooling setup will cost lets say for a $200-$250.00 budget?

Going to purchase around april 3rd for birthday

Need a setup that will do great with my quad and run cooler for me than my tuniq tower :) i also have a cooler master 690 so im guessing i can mount rad on back since case has the tube holes already :)

so please watercooling gurus help poor little rumy =[

thanks alot :)

now i just need info on coolant stuff so if you know what i need to add to the distilled water or if there is something that is like a all in one type coolant that will be cool, looking to get dye water blue as well :)

No reason to get an 9800GTX over your 8800GT - the 9800GTX is nothing more then a slightly overclocked, yet underclocked 8800GTS, both based on the g92 core.

I would really get a 3x120 rad with a quad + a 8800(later on )

and
Swiftech MCB-120 "Radbox" Radiator/Fan Housing Rev. 2 that is for a 1x120 rad not the 2x120 that you picked out

ty sam

K new list ( just double check if you can please :) )

Dont waste your $ on the coolant. When you are @ home depot get some Deionized water ( for filling up batterys ) some anti freeze and iodine from a pharmacy .

The rad I linked you is just as good and has a Rez built in for the same price
I still dont know what you plan on doing with that Rad box wont fit any of the rad you have picked out .

looks good to me :D

http://www.petrastechshop.com/swmcin12pu.html

over @ xtremesystems they said that pump is better and everything looks good to :D

also said to get pt nuke and distilled water and i should be set on that and ill pick up some blue dye cause i want blue water :D

so i will let you guys know when i order my stuff first week of april :D thanks alot to everyone who helped :D appreciate it :D

Loop's pretty short, I'm sure he can afford the pressure loss.

If I'm not mistaken, they're the same pump, it's just one has a speed controller (useful for draining the loop) but at the cost of the 10 extra dollars?

just a note. Above someone says to get Deionized water. I am new to watercooling but I am sure you want Distilled water, not deionized. Using deionized will drive degradation of your system in an attempt to restore an ion balance (water is naturally deionized as is to H+ and O2-).

you want to use Distilled Water, which simply is water where all additives and minerals have been boiled off.

Also, shop around for oyur prices. I scoured Newegg (although is water cooling department is still an infant), NCIXUS.com, PetrasTechShop.com, Jab-tech.com and a few others. I found the best prices, on the items I went with, to come from Petra's and NCIXUS, although shipping for NCIXUS will be expensive since its based out of Canada.

Also, I am going to be using the Rad Box, as well, but to mount my massive thermochill 120.3 pa which is a 3x120mm rad.Ive read reviews where it says it easily handles the larger rads, but i will make a post later to update.
I am either sitting the rad off the top 80mm fan port on my case or off the back 80mm..

case is a Lian Li PC-61

do you really need a resevoir? i recall hearing all they do is slow down your loop....
i asked around a bit and they said i will be fine wont notice it so i guess ill keep it for now

yea only 10 bucks more and they said its good to have so i might as well pick it up :D

You are correct i didnt update that part, im going to get distilled water and pick up some pt nuke and some dye and maybe something else if i need to mix it :D

that rad box should fit 3 x 120 rad just need to mount it in the middle they said and it will hold it so thats what im going to do when i start getting my stuff

now i just need to know the placement as in rad>pump>res>cpu etc etc dont know which way are better so once i get my stuff i guess i will ask :)

I have always used deionized water and never had a problem . same tubes used for more than a year

i think you want your Res on the pump inlet side, i know you do for a t-line, so i would assume its the same thing.

my order will be.. pump>cpu>northbridge>8800GTS>Rad>tline

Maybe its a slow process or maybe I am wrong.
