I have 4x1GB of OCZ PC26400 Platinum Rev2 modules.
My board is the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev1.1.
Ram is running at 2.1V in 1:1 with 400Mhz FSB

I know boards are generally defaulted (and ram spds) to run two modules. Even after searching the web, I am still having trouble finding the right settings to get my 4x1GB up and running.

I have loosened my timings from 4-4-4-15 to 5-5-5-18. and my Command Rate to 2t.
I have also increased NB to 1.3V (I am not sure how much higher I could or should go).

One thing I heard in another forum is that Auto settings anywhere in the bios won't work for 4x1gb. Problem is, I not sure what to change some of them to.

my options are:

(G)MCH Freq. Latch: AUTO
the usual CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS

Under Advanced:
tRRD
tWTR
tWR
tRFC
tRTP
Comand Rate (CMD)

Then, still in advanced:
>>>>Channel A
Channel A timing Settings
Channel A Driving Settings

>>>>Channel B
Channel B Timing Settings
Channel B driving settings

With power control, I ahve:

MCH Core
MCH Reference
MCW/DRAM Reference
DRAM Voltage
DRAM Termination

Thanks guys.

I haven't tried 4 sticks in my UD3P, but I do have 4x1GB DDR2-800 XMS2 that I could try. If you haven't found an answer by the time I get off work, then I'll run those stick in my UD3P and see if I have problems.

Have you tried using 1 stick in each DIMM individually to make sure all the slots are working?

Try changing the Static tRead Value setting for both Channel A and B to 8 or 9 (can be lowered later if need be). Keep CAS, tRCD, tRP, and tRAS at 4-4-4-12-2T w/ DRAM voltage at 2.1V, but manually change tRFC from AUTO to 54 (all other sub-timings on AUTO).

yeah, I have cleared each module and each DIMM individually. From what I can see on the web, it appears gigabyte boards are a pain to get running with 4x1gb.

Thanks; I just upgraded bios and will try some more things after class.

will give it a try later. where exaclty (or which on exactly) is the static read? I saw that mentioned somewhere else but couldn't figure out which on it is.

It's located under both Channel A Timings Settings, and Channel B Timings Settings.

thanks, going to give it a try now..

also, should i have the MCH voltage at? stil 1.3v? or stock?

so here are the settings i currently ahve. this is with the F11 bios and the result is: constant reboot at bios post screen.

Do I have some off settings? I know I can undervolt my cpu but I just haven;t gotten around to it. I am going to try to reboot again with looser timings and the settings that are shown above ..

so I tried with the above settings and looser timings (5-5-5-18) with no success.

I then tried with the above settings, looser timings, and a 1.40 MCH voltage with no success..

so maybe it is the DIMM Slots. Now I do know if you a board isnt supposed to function if you are using the latter two dimms of dual channel, ie using 1 and 3 of the 0,1,2,3 dimms.

So i just took out my old sticks of ram and left in the RMA'd sticks i received today in the 1 and 3 dimms and its looking up during post.. strange..

just swapped the new RMA'd sticks from DIMM 1 and 3 to 0 and 1 and still same thing.. ODDD! let me try a cmos reset.... annd still the same.

UPDATE::

So I tried each of the new RMA'd modules individually and wouldnt u know, one of them won't post.. SERIOUSLY? A faulty RMA???

Alright, so its final. I have a DOA stick from my RMA. Man, I wouldnt have thought they would have tripple checked sets they are sending out as RMA replacements...

At this rate, I should probably just wait for ram prices to recover and buy a 2x2gb kit. I have to see if they are going to pay for my shipping out since they just sent me a faulty kit..

thanks guys, i will try those tips when i have 4 working modules, lol
