im about to reformat my hd and put in a new one, can i save all the settings on my account so i do not have to reset everything? (ie. resolution, startmenue, background mydocs...ect.)

You can save all your account settings by using the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard"...Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools. You can also save files and settings for IE, OE, "My Documents" folder...and more, including file associations. The wizard also includes an "Advanced" option, whereas you can select which files and/or settings to save. You can also choose the destination for the saved settings...be it a seperate partition on the same HDD, a different HDD, etc. ;)
