mine is currently at 12.86. IS this good or bad, and what's the range where it starts becoming bad?

I think most PSU are usually within +/-.05%. I doubt that being at 12.86V. is going to hurt anything.

Mine hovers over 13 and that scares me a bit, although posters to my thread reckon that would kill to have my PSU ?

Royal, 11.86 is still inside of the +/-.05%.

Sorry Royal, it is +/- 5%.
Most decent PSU have Overvoltage protection, normally around 14 for the 12V, 6.5 for the 5V and 4 for the 3.3v.
