can you run an ata133 drive on a mobo with only ata100 support?

Yes you can but the drive will only run at ata 100 speeds.

Sure you can. As mentioned, it will only run at ATA100 speeds. This is not a big deal, though, as the difference isn't noticable.

im running a d740x on my pc rite now (see sig) which is a ata133 drive. yes, the mobo reads its ata133, but its performing like an ata100 based on benchies.
