You know, I have built 4 systems now, but not one case has ever come with a manual so I got to thinking tonight while looking over my parts for my 5th system in several years.
With the Standoffs also comes little washers, I have always placed the motherboard over the standoffs then placed the washers on the motherboard before screwing it down.
Is this the real place the washers go? On top of the motherboard?
They are usually a brown cloth type material.
It's always worked well but thought I would ask to make sure thats right.

Thanks much, I figured they did, but its always better to ask when in doubt.

Depends, I like to place them on the stand-offs & on top of the board just to make sure but some boards like to be grounded so it really depends. I think they are made of mica or something.
