How well to the Athlon Xp 1800+ 'ThoroughBred' overclock?

Has anyone got this cpu and what speeds did you get to with air cooling?

Can anyone help

My 1800B is at 2.1Ghz with default voltage air cooled. could go higher but my memory is holding me back

1800+ T-bred A's have stepping codes that end in A (i.e. RIUGA, AIUGA, AJUGA) and will probably overclock to 1.8 or 1.9 GHz.

1800+ T-bred B's have stepping codes that end in B (i.e. JIUCB, JIUGB, JIUHB) and seem to overclock to 2.0 GHz and higher.

I have a an 1800+ "A" and it hits a brick wall just below 1.850GHz even with higher voltage on stock air cooling.

thatwould be on your chip. for palimino cores it is inscribed on the core, for tbreds/bartons it is on a black label.

If you don't want to remove your heat sink, you can at least find out if you have a T-bred A or B by running WCPUID.

T-bred A's are model 8, stepping ID 0.

T-bred B's are model 8, stepping ID 1.
