I use memtest, but I was wondering if there is anything anyone would recomend that runs in the windows environment?

Prime95 is a good program to test cpu & memory

Prime95 is quite stressful on memory, so it could point out a stable system. But Memtest86 is probably the best common memory stability.

How long do you run Prime before you call it stable?

Depends on your defination of stable.
Pure stability should allow it to run 24x7 constantly.
But a good run overnight, maybe 12 hours, and it should be stable enough to pretty much anything. A 24 or 36 hour run would be more then needed.
