I am looking to upgrade my pny fx5200 128 meg version to a BFG 5500 OC 256 meg ram card for 150.00 is it worth the upgrade and will I see any improvement in video performance. thanks for any help.

It is NOT worth the upgrade and you will probably not see any improvement unless your 5200 is a 64-bit memory version. The 5200 and 5500 are pretty much the same thing. You are in canada, right? $150 for a 5500 is a totally outrageous price in the US. Look for a 5700 or a 9600.

nope 150 is the us price or I haven't really looked around for a cheaper price. how can you tell if it's 64 bit or 128 bit and is the 5200 overclockable with a program like rivatuner or not really.. kinda new at this video card stuff.

add another $50 or find refurb for 9800 pro 128. that is a more valuable upgrade.

I had previously own 5200, overclocking it will not give significant performance. but you can always try if you want, just use coolbits.
