i was lookin around on my computer today and, i went it the program asus probe. I went to the dmi explorer and went to the proccessor tab and found something very interesting. it was saying my current speed is 1800mhz, but the max speed is 2400mhz. now my question is: can i only get that max speed by OCing, or isa there an option?

Dude don't trust anyting else than yourself. ASUS probe is a piece of junk.
The only way to learn your real OC potential is to find it yourself.Good luck

How does it know how far you can overclock the motherboard?
You don't have cool and quite enabled do you?

No turn is off.

It's pretty stupid. and if your overclocking it will screw everything up.
Did for me anyway!

well i did not install it, so i guess, it would not be on, unless microsoft has its own version it uses
