Well my transition board has fullfiled it duty and allowed me to get my PCI-E and my DDR2 at my own pace and now its time to pass it down to my other system for its conversion...

Time to get a new board for this system. I was thinking of getting a 925XE and i noticed a 955X chipset on the intel site.

Anyone heard anything good about these? should i wait? Is the 925XE what i should go for?

It adds some other features too, but I have yet to see a test of one, besides the Intel MB.

I know that ASUS has one in the works, Im not sure if its out, but the specs are, and it should not be too long.

and read some comparison between the P5WD2 Premium and P5ND2-SLI Deluxe(intel version) NF4 are still better than 955x with a small margin though http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2394

the 955x was also the chipset used to reach the world record for ddr2 of 1ghz

Will the 955XE be compatible with the single core prescotts? Or will you only be able to use the dual cores?

I believe it will be compatible with any LGA 775 CPU, including single core.
