y splitter for 2 fans

is it dangerous or harmful to split power with a Y adapter to two fans from one 3 pin connector on the mobo?

You may not want to run two fans from your mobo header. You may not want to run one fan from it if the fan is high powered. If you give the specs of the fan maybe we can be of more help.

On the mobo header it is a bad idea, but if you are attaching it to a fan controller its good.

I will Have a big typhoon and 2 of theese:

i would NOT do it. the amprage draw seems like it would be too much. a fan bus, or a 4 pin addaptor would be much SAFER solutions.

i have the asus p5ld2, it has one 4 pin connecter could i split it using that one?

if the total amperage of the two fans does not exceed the mobo header limit (~0,35A) sure you can, but I dont recomend.

You're right max_clock, it's around the 3-4 watt rating. They are driven by a mosfet thats rated at 5 watts absolute max or a little better if sinked but there are no sinks on the mobo. You never want to run near absolute max.

If you only run the HS's fan off the mobo it should be safe..

Here's a link to a fan controller to run your case fans. The fan control hooks up to a 4 pin molex and in effect splits off your wiring to your fans..
