x1300 crossfire

I have decided for money reasons I am going to go with a x1300 pro. something else I am thinking about is getting a second x1300 pro and enabling it with crossfire. The crossfire thing is new to me. from what I understand if I put 2 x1300 pro in a crossfire compatable motherboard, the software with it renders graphics in different ways where one gpu is processing a certain part of the screen and the other gpu is processing the remainder of the screen. so i guess basically my question is...if I get 2 x1300 pros I will be able to use crossfire?

how much are the x1300's b/c using them in crossfire kinda seems like a waste. You're probably better off going with a single card solution for the same price i bet it will outperform CF x1300's

any recommendations/

I'm not sure how much the X1300 cost, but you'd get better performance out of 1- X1800XL whcih will run ya about 300$ give or take.

Yeah, I was going to say either an x1800xl or you can find 7800GT's these days for around 250 bux if you catch a deal and they perform well

X1300 Crossfire is useless. It will cost you about $200 or maybe a little more, so I recommend getting a 6800GS, that will be a little over $170 or so. As stated by planoser, you could go SLI later.

If you can save up a bit, I recommend getting a 7800GT. That will get you the most out of your money.

The only reason to get 2 x1300's is if you are on a tight budget and need something that can run more then 2 monitors. The crossfire on my x1600 xt's works great. I can switch in and out of crossfire without even restarting my system. I chose x1600's because I run 4 screens and needed some cards that were not long like the x1800's and 7800's.
So to answer your question, yes the x1300 crossfire will work just fine, but you would be much better off getting a single x1600xt. The single x1600xt will cost the same as 2 x1300's but way out perform 2 x1300s. If you are really really tight on money then go with a x1600pro which is only $20 more then the x1300.
