How to Format a 120 gig external into FAT32

Windows98 2nd ed. recovery disk is the only way I know how, not knowing any other details (it has a dos OS and formating tools that you can use on a machine that doesn't have a OS installed).. like what OS are you running on your other machines? If you need a FAT32 partition I would guess your running a FAT32 OS thus could format the drive with that computer.

You can do it from linux with the mkfs.vfat command (look at the man page first). If this is a shared windows xp/linux data drive, I suggest using ext3 instead of fat32 and using the excellent windows ext2/3 ifs driver available at fs-driver.org.
