Cpu DEATH so sudden

My mobile celeron 1.6gig cpu just died, all the sudden. It wasnt overclocked, and also it was cooled very well. The windows gave me blue screen, then I tried to boot again, and nothing... I checked ram, checked os. Nuttin. Cpu DEAD. I replaced it, and everything worked fine. Can the cpu just die all the sudden.

snds can happen but for a system that is stock, for it to just happen like that is odd and rare.
