New Build Bottleneck?

I've been kinda tossed on the HD. I've used WD before and it has always been solid. Seagate seems to have a higher failier rate. Of course those with problems talk louder than those that don't.

Moral of the story? Any HDD can die.
Solution? Put your new HDD's through their paces. Stress them all you can: full format(not quick), benchmarks, and check for bad sectors regularly until they are ~6 months old. After that period of time I've not seen a drive die for years and years. I've got 15 year old WD's and Seagates.
