I just built my first machine and please forgive me for my ignorance. I keep hearing people talking about OC their RAM. Is that possible? If yes, How can I do it myself?

My RAM: Corsair 2x2GB 800 XMS2

Thanks.

Yes you can overclock your ram, but it depends if you need to overclock your ram,

If you only run a FSB upto 400 you will not need to overclock your ram.

Corsair doesn't use the same chips on all models so you will just need to test them out and see if they can overclock or not.

It depends on your motherboard, but as long as you have something that can handle it, it's possible to do without extreme measures. Meaning that it's very simple to do if you have a recent Mobo that's of any real quality.

One of the main purposes of OCing your system memory, is to keep a 1:1 ratio between the FSB and the RAM when OCing your processor.
