does CAD use all cores? my bro wants a comp for gaming but uses CAD at uni.

q6600 or e8400? and yes he will let me OC it :)
 
if the cad program is setup for multi cpu usage then a quad would be better then a dual core... i still say get the quad...
 
if you can wait maybe... neha is showing nice improvements with a IMC and QP. for the same clock i thought i saw them say it was 33% faster then a 45nm quad.
 
wow thats a huge improvment. i guess he could just get a new CPU and mobo if he gets a nice video card/ mem/ psu now.

main reason he wants it for is games tho
