Yes, looks that model doesn't have the VRMs or memory covered (see yellow areas in picture). It's using the air from cooler to cool them.. They probably would run cooler if you sink them. I have used these for VRMs before found at Jabtech. http://www.jab-tech.com/Enzontech-Mosfet-Heatsink-MOS-C1-pr-4112.html. They maybe too tall but the are easily cut down to size. Also these worked well too at Petra's Tech shop.

For memory use these sinks: http://www.jab-tech.com/Enzotech-Forged-Copper-Low-profile-VGA-Memory-Heatsink-BCC9-pr-3978.html

i wouldnt buy a card that doesnt have any cooling on the vrms... why should you have to buy something extra that should come with the card in the firstplace...

um your sig is wrong. It cant run crysis...

6800 is first card mentioned under minum rerements and IIRC the 5200 was dx8 card...

I would if the price of VRM coolers was less.

for some odd reason though these aftermarket cooler guys feel like raping enthusiasts

Personally?

I would not spend 3 bucks per ram sink or whatever for VRM coolers, when I can get an old aluminum socket 7 heatsink for free, cut it up and use some seiksui thermal tap to mount it. Works just as well (for its purpose) and costa -1000% the cost. (cost is tape alone most of the time...)

Oh a hacksaw might set you back 8 bucks if you do not have one already. (LOL what guy does not have a hacksaw though, or access to one.....for that matter the money you save on not buying dumb (EDIT: oh I mean "cool" if spending money makes you look and not stupid) looking sinks, you can buy a rubber padded handle hacksaw at abnormal prices and still save money...)

So far have sinked, vram, VRMs fets on mobos, speed chips hell back in the dayI even upgraded Gcore cooling :)All with aluminum block coolers. (those coolers would not work on modern Gcores but work fine for everything else....

LMAO!!!! its funny how so many ppl post that they can run crysis maxed out when MY rig cant even run crysis maxed out at a 1080 res.... sorry for the OT

just buy a different card with active cooling on the vrms bro i wouldnt bother with the one you posted
