Ok...My friend just gave me this e-Machine "etower 633irx" And I was playing with CPUFSB with hopes of OCing... And when I first start playing around with it I noticed that the multiplier was @ 9.5x whatever to get to 633...I had no suscess OCing...Actually you know what I did have it upto 650..And no Idea how cuz I just randomly picked a PLL manufauture..It''s a Trigem MOBO POS really.... And I just opened CPUFSB and the multiplier was @ 5.5...Was I just seeing thing earlyer when it aws @ 9.5 ? or did it some how unlock ?....

Anyone know how to find PLL's it got ??
I got this info off the CPU....it took me like 5mins to get the freakin HS off :p damn clip...

I know the 633 is the Mhz and 128 is prolly the cache and 66 FSB ??? cuz 66x5.5 isnt 631 it's 363 or something like that...

I would love some info thanks... :)

[edit]here is the info I got from Sandra...is it somewhere in here ???sorry for the length...

Yeah I'm working on it right now...I even restarted and it's still @ 5.5 :/ Taht's really weird...But it's be really cool if it was unlocked...:) I'm DLing SANDRA right nowe on to that slow POS haha... 56k...it's kinda slow compared to the DSL :/ but the 56k is dling @ 5.60kb/sec :) and connected @ 50,660

SoftCPU sometimes gives you weird multipliers readings. But trust me, the multiplier is not unlocked.

SoftFSB ???

Ok, after looking again I see you're using CPUFSB not softFSB, but I bet they're very similar. I've used softFSB, but not CPUFSB.

You can not unlock a Celeron CPU. I don't think you can unlock any Intel CPU for that matter.
it's true.........
but there is some rare intel cpu that have multiplier unlock....
i see a p3 800 @960.....
the 'ES' series

A P-III@960 ?? Whats rare about that ? It's on 160x6=960 I can get that right now with mine... I can get upto just over 1ghz...1020 or something...

well id it's unlocked you'd be able to get higher mhz cause u can change the "x" say to 10 and x 150... 1.5 right there... wouldnt that be more of a go ?

No you CPU isn't UNLOCK

But Rather you need to understand that:

1. Motherboard only "suggest" the Multiplier setting
in this case, it was 5.5x on the Emachine

2. THE "Hardwired" Multplier LOCK OVERRIDE the
Motherboard's suggestion.

I owned several Celeron 633 so I know what I'm talking about.

My abit BX6R2 only have Multiplier up to 8.5x,
the celeron 633 requires a multplier of 9.5x

I just plugged it in, and eveything work, becaue the CPU's internal setting OVERRIDES all External setting from motherboard

Hope that helps

Peter is right.... I´ve seen many mobos where you can "change" the multiplier in the bios and it will "change" in the screen, save the info but the cpu will still run only it´s default multiplier... When you run other diagnose programs and divide your current cpu speed by th original multiplier you will see that it´s working on the default multiplier, not the bios showing one...

Exceptions are the engineering samples... as said...

Well, well, well, this one was good:D

Honestly, you don't really know what your talking about, ain't you?;) Do you really believe that a "normal" P3 Coppermine CPU could reach 1,5GHz with ease??? :p

And, I don't believe that your CPU is unlocked, that's to say you can change the multiplier, because all unlocked CPUs have a s-Spec which ends with ES!!! And I can't see any "ES" in SL3VS!

Sorry, but I really had to comment that.

BTW, slightly above 1GHz is a nice Overclock with a Celeron 633! Congrats!
