Are ultra-bright LEDs bright enough for a mouse mod?

I was looking at radioshack.com, and I cannot find mcd figures for any of the LED's, are LED's listed as ultra-bright bright enough to use in my optical mouse? If not, Where can I find really bright blue LEDs?

The standard 5v blue LED they sell works fine. The 3.7 is alot brighter, but i have a 5v in mine and it's plenty bright
