well wasnt going to try this. but being the geek i am though id try it
i took 2 8 meg and 2 16 meg raptors and put them in a raid 0 configuration
was suprised by the performance ... hd tach gave me
2x 8 megs gave me a burst of 179 and a average read of 98
2x16 megs gave me a burst of 239 and a average read of 144
now
4 x8 meg and 16 meg burst of 336.6 and a average read of 196
and let me tell you they are fast BUT would they be faster with only 3 drives ? and maybe use the 4th for my swap file?or should i leave them alone?..... 0 and i dont care about back up i have an 250 gig for that
