Hey guys. Been looking into 3D printers a bit recently. I'm interested in maybe getting one. I've been looking at the solidoodle 3. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with one?

I'm really looking for any advice anyone might have. I'd be looking to spend no more then $800. I want to have a print area of at least 8x8x8, have a heated platform, be able to print down to .1mm, print in PLA and ABS. I'd also prefer the unit come assembled, but if for the money I can get a significantly better printer with a kit then I will certainly take it into consideration.

One last thing. I run linux. What software do you guys suggest I use for 3d modeling? I've seen people using blender. Is that the best option currently for Linux?

Thanks,
