How ...WOW! This setup is smokin fast. I am pressed for time, gotta go to work. I have my old 3800x & Dominator Platinum 3200 ready to go into the classifieds in the next few days. Temps are more than I expected...idle depends on how hot my house is 50 I have seen 41c. Load I tihnk i remeber 80c dont quote me on that. I game in Cyberpunk for hours, no issues. The fans on my MSI 360 AIO are on 900rpm..silent. I can change that. My Gskill 3600 Cl14-15-15-35 is set to DOCP and runs perfect!

Any test requests? prime 95?

So here is a pic of my idle temps. 64c and my room is at 70f

Idle temperatures typically aren't relevant... but sitting at 64C at idle in windows is very high. That should be in the 30s or 40s. Something isn't right there. I'm scared to ask what your temps are under stress temperature loads....

I would check the temps with HWInfo64, I personally don't have a lot of faith in AIsuite in general.

Thanks Johan45..I will download it soon.

I made some changes. My case has a plastic shield right where the intake should be. So I pulled it off and then removed a cable that has a inline resistor to run the fans in silent. Then I selected Turbo in my fan profile and it has dropped 10c. Thinking of a new case or cutting a big square in the front and putting a magnetic dust filter in its place.

Also noticed my lugs on the cooling head are not protruding out of the brackets symmetrically. One lug seems seated thru the hold down slot while the other one barely pokes thru. I hate AMD mounting!!! It always sucks!

I will remount the cooling head tomorrow. No gaming until I remount it.

Dang bro! I like this HWI program. yeah, my rig is running too hot. But with help from OCF it will be in tip top shape soon!!!

There should be a separate section titled "CPU" which will give the die temp. Sometimes the temps in the motherboard section are not as accurate.

Regarding the mounting, once you get them to "bite" into the backplate, you should be able to use a cross pattern like you're tightening a tire. Since the lugs use springs to actually apply pressure to the block, you'll want to go ahead and screw each of them all the way down until it bottoms out.

Also, you can capture the image on screen by hitting prt scn, pasting in MS Paint (or windows snipping tool) save it, then attach to the forums. The moire from the 1990s era screen cap almost made me have a seizure. :p

Yeah, this gskill ram looks like jewelry. I like it a lot!

Hmmm, is this normal temps for a 16 core cpu? In the HWI program it says "trip temperature is 115c" is that when the motherboard cuts power to save the chip if it over heats?

Ok, so here is a current shot of me perusing the forums after my rig has been on for 2hrs. 35c is good? So what I dont get is all the back and forth temps...?

So what ever happened was good. I have not made any changes. Maybe I just need to let my rig run for a bit to get the cooling loop efficient/ because it hovers from 35c to 37c just using windows and internet. In this shot both Asus and HWI report the same temps.

If you haven't noticed, the OP is from the 1900's era. Come on grandpaw, get with the times! :)

Wow! My broseph Nades! Noice! Man, last I spoke with you, you were going to the University!! Right on!

At ED...I read some articles where Epic provided a hotfix...but that the hotfix will not completely resolve the problem. My epic is on auto update.

On a better note,...I ran HWI in graph mode while gaming in Cyberpunk and my CPU stayed level at 59c the whole time. I think those are very good numbers under load for a 16 core CPU.

But...EarthDog, I think you are right about the 30,ish temps on idle. If I did not have a Epic game launcher then I think my temps would be in the 30's on idle

Well, I removed the cooling head and found that my pea sized TIM was not enough.

So I painted the tim on this time and still got the same temps as before. And I noticed that the cooling head does not cover the whole cpu IHS. So I did it a 3rd time but this time I turned the hose inlets to the other side.

Here is the 2nd mount.....paint screen with idle temps of 20 mins

- - - Auto-Merged Double Post - - -

This screen shot is gaming with the rig running cyberpunk for 30 mins....

Brother, it has been a long time. I'm still at a university, but it has been a eon since I sat in a student's chair! That seems pretty high for idle temperatures. Are you sure it isn't a software issue? I use Core Temp for temperature monitoring. Perhaps a day of burn-in would drop the temperatures? What do you observe with the Wraith cooler? Also, can you adjust your pump speed, fan speeds? Go full blast and see if that helps. If it does not, try the air cooler. The idea is to check if it is a contact problem.

You know it could be a software issue. I haven't increased the pump speed yet. That's an idea. The power cable they gave for the MSI 360R AIO is an old school 3 pin fan header. Its not the AIO 4 straight, 4 pin that is on my mobo for AIO control. I plugged it into the CPU fan header on the motherboard.

I did not get a power adapter, just a regular ole 3 pin like off a fan.

I only used the wraith cooler for my 3800x bot this beast 5950x.

Then it may be running at 100% already. You can check the RPM in the BIOS. Did you run the fan tastic tuning to get your fan/pump speed limits set properly?

Here is a pic of my bios with fan speed and cpu temp.

@ Earth Dog...what water cooling setup do you have for your 5950x? Maybe I should return this one (even though I sanded the corners off one fan?)
