6600 bottle necked on my old rig

well i converted my old Sempron 2500+ rig to folding and never really check for bottle necks and found out there was a little bottle neck going on.

stock 1.4ghz 5221 in 03
oc 1.870ghz 5408 in 03
oc 1.960ghz 5421 in 03
oc 2.104ghz 5434 in 03


at 2.1 the gain was tiny so i thought a 2.25ghz oc would get rid of that bottleneck but i plan on running this at a solid 2.3 or 2.4ghz soon as the new psu comes since the psu in here is crap and i dont trust the voltages to be stable enought for folding.


i have gotten higher than those scores when i oc'ed the card "in the 6000's" but since my psu is crap im not gonna oc that card much. but i think the scores are pretty good for a old 6600. gonna try to oc the card and get rid of that bottle neck by putting that cpu to 2.3ghz and benching it.

ehhh not bad.... but im pullin 10k in 3dmark03 with my 6600gt and stock northwood 3.0...

but its intresting that it was bottlenecking it like that... i cant imagine the difference it would be before and after in bf2 cus bf2 is VERY cpu dependent.

I thought it would be odd for a 6600GT to do poorly like that in 03.. I don't remember my results..but they were quite high, redownloading 03 now, then I will see what I get. (Reminder, everything is stock on mine )

he has a NON gt 6600.... which i am surprised was bottlenecked by a sempron 2500.

COME ON MAN that 6600gt has WAY more potential... mid to high 9k or even 10k.

oced 6500 in 03. i can beat some stock 6600gt's lol but oc'ed 6600gt's kill my card lol.
