I have created another thread about my own mid range computer build but when I planned to buy a new computer, my friend also wants to get one also. He has a limited budget however, around the $700 range mark and this is what I came up for him. Yes I am a noob at building computers but my friend is even more of a noob than me and he wants me to help him.

Here is what I got so far

look into the cm690 at micro center its a great case that will prob cost less then the rc330

The E6750 is In stock and $50 cheaper than the E8400. Microcenter is the only place that I've seen that has them for $189.99 but they are flying off the shelves there. The 6750 is already $60 more than the other chip, the E8400 is over double of the original chip.

No point getting the E6750 when the E8400 is only a little more and will clock higher and perform better clock for clock. I think the E4500 is a waste as well unless you find a good deal that puts it to the $100 range. The E21xx are a good choice to tide you over until newer chips become more affordable.

I would suggest the E8400 but for now the price is around $250 which is double than the E4500 he originally posted.

very similar setup to my own, if he plans on any overclocking it might be worth getting a corsair VX 550 for the 41A single 12v rail, it should be round about the same price.

I'm really happy with my performance so far and I've not even begun to stress the chip yet!
