Im building an A64 3200+ Rig in a month or so, and was looking at getting a chaintech nForce3 150 Zenith mobo but i havent really heard much good about them. Does any body have one or have any comments on them?

Or does anyone have any suggestions on a mobo thats good for an A64 Rig?

I'll be buying the same chip and I'm personally waiting for the K8N Neo Platinum by MSI. It reviewed pretty well and has great overclockability potential. Also, it's going to be employing the new Nforce3 250 chipset which offers a decent performance gain.

MSI's site says that the board will be out in May and considering that reviews were done mid April, I'm thinking its coming out pretty soon.

You can get more info about the board here:
http://www.msicomputer.com/pressrelease/64bit.asp
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=2036

From the same article regarding overclockability:

Hope that helps,

Maybe ill go with the platinum then since i dont plan to buy the parts for atleast a month, need to finish getting all the funding together :)

What advantages does the nforce 3 250 have over the nforce 3 150? Both boards are going to come out in the current socket and then later in the 939?

the nforce3 250 is supposed to be better all around than the other A64 chipsets. But thats about all i can tell you.

It better be only a week or so. I'll be depressed if it's much longer. I'm out of my gaming rig right now =[ Is there any set price on it or is it to be announced?

Also, top vdimm is what 2.8v? It looks like I'm going to have to physically mod this board if that's true. Can't run bh-5 at 2.8v :(

Hi,
The Nvidia NForce3 250 chipsets is proven to support AGP/PCI locked, which is essential if you plan to "overclock" your FSB above 200MHz.;plus it provides 2 more SATA ports,Gygabyte LAN and other additional features above that of the existing NForce 150. I know some people may not like THG but see below their Web page regarding this new Nvidia NForce 250 chipset details, and judge it for yourself.

Noted:If I were decided to buy these AMD64 754-pins chip to go with NForce 3 chipsets, I would wait and buy one of the NForce 250 MBs when they come out.

Good luck,

OCdragon
