Well i was extremely disappointed with Asus when i got this board. I have the same setup I had with my Abit NF7-s 2.0 (my waterblock had a leak and fried my board :( so i thought i would try something new).

With my NF7-s i was able to have 200 FSB with my mobile 2600+ AXMG2600FQQ4C, stock voltage, actualy i was even able to under volt it a little (didnt leave it undervolted, but was able to do it). Now with this board i cant get it over 166. Does this board not have pci lock and kill my bus when i set it to 200?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, specs below

AMD 2600+ mobile barton
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe (bought it 7/6/05)
Corsair XMS 2x512mb (in dual channel 2&3)
Maxtor 160gb sata (main - I hate this damn drive, too hot, too loud, too slow)
WD 120gb sata (storage drive)
NEC dvd burner
9800pro (tomorrow it will be 6800GT)
cooled with water, running around 36/38 (idle/load)

Needless to say im about ready to throw this piece of crap board out the window and search around for another NF7-s or better yet upgrade to A64 (sucks that i just bought the 6800gt card though :p)

well my Asus got burned so I am not shore if I remember correctly....but there is a jumper on the board for FSB chek it...

I had t-breed xp and my fsb was set to 200

What BIOS do you use?

im using the latest ones, 1013 i think, i cant remember off the top of my head.

I just looked in the manual about the FSB jumper and right now it is on default jumper which says "FSB 400mhz, 333mhz, or 266mhz" the other setting (pins 2/3) says "Support for 200mhz only"

So it is on the right jumper setting.

I even have my ram timing pretty loose set to 3-3-3-11 also tried 3-3-3-8 and none of those seem to work.....

The board is definently capable of 200Mhz FSB. I have been running my 2500+ Barton at 2.2Ghz (11x200) since Dec. of 2003. If you are going to toss the board in the trash I'd love to take it off your hands :).

since you really did not offer any real specifics after thinking about your situation, i have a thought.

try setting everything in your bios manually. nothing by auto or speed and see what happens.....

I was able to get 195 mhz with an old T-bred B 2000+, 512 MB Kingston PC2700 with Infineon chips and BIOS 1009, before I returned the motherboard. (not because of motherboard problems)
