After Fresh Install Mouse Has Problems

Just wiped my hdd clean and reinstalled windows 7. Upon startup my mouse looks like it is connected (the led's are lit), but the cursor does not move. If I unplug, then replug the usb cable it is recognized. Any thoughts?

Install drivers?

A standard mouse should work. Might look at BIOS for USB support on boot.

If it's an odd mouse, a major gaming mouse, might need drivers.
