Well, last night I got it to work for over 6 hours and reboot 17 times and didn't have any problems. Strange.

I think one of the culprits might be the SB Live card. I was going to try to flash the bios but it wouldn't let me last night so I have to try it again tonight. We'll see what happens.

Anyway...I have it nearly completed with almost all my normal software installed. Now I have to play with some tests and see what happens. Like installing the modem & ethernet card.

hi keith.
suddenly i`ve been getting lokups aswell.
so i`ve formated and installed win2k.
and it still was getting hard lockups after about when everything was loaded and into windows.
but after installing the all the drivers for the board they all went away and it seems everything is ok now.

drivers:usb filter,agp fix for win2k patch,etc.....
with 3C bios.
i think for me it was not installing the usb filters that was causing the problems in the first place.
and if u r on cable with usb cable modem then i think this is a must....
the ie was really slow before but now it as it should be...

hope it works out.....

GOD....

Well, I got my stupid registration key now for Windows 2K so I am going to attempt to get that running tonight. We'll see what happens tonight.

I just want to thank everyone for all the help they have been, even if I am the meanest person you have ever dealt with. I must say this MoBo is a pain in the tush.

Keith, ill have to say, you have ALOT more patience than me!
Can you not get a RMA of that board? Why is it out of warrenty? WHy do you want to use it anyway, after all the problems and non existant help from ABIT?
If I had that board, and could not get a RMA, I would take it out for target practice, burn the left over chunks, then put up a website detailing all the problems and how ABIT treated me.. of course thats just me, hehe.

IF your looking for somethinng more stable, go with EPOX.

Ok, good news...I have been running for two complete days now successfully without a BSOD.

This is the current system set up...

System - Windows ME
Super Power Mid Tower Case
Sparkle 300W Power Supply w/ 2 High RPM case fans & 1 PCI card cooler
Abit KT7A MoBo BIOS WW
AMD T-Bird 850 MHz 200 FSB Processor w/ GlobalWIN FOP-38 Cooler
512 MB CAS 3 Crucial RAM (1x512 MB)
Maxtor DiamondMax 45.0 GB 7200 RPM UATA-100 Hard Drive
Samsung 52X CD-ROM Drive
Hewlett-Packard 9350i 10/8/32X CD-RW Drive
Jaton GeForce 2 MX 32 MB AGP Video Card

I haven't installed any other PCI cards yet. Right now I am trying to get all the software installed on it and then we'll see what happens. I am thinking about going with the Ethernet card, then the modem and finally the sound card (but only AFTER I update the BIOS to ZT - hopefully).

According to the latest Via 4in1 drivers, it should help resolve some of the SB Live! instabilities on the KT133A chipset. We'll see if it does.

Ok, it is now July 13th, 2001 and it has officially been running stable.

I put the SB Live! card in and it began having problems so...

I took it out again and I still have not put any other cards in as I am waiting on my IWill Motherboard to come in to replace this one.

I must say, I am not impressed by the motherboard but I was wrong when I said you could not get it to be stable. You can, it just takes ALOT of patience
