Hi guys. I m totally new here.

I had few questions regarding my CPU, AMD Athlon X2 5000+ Brisbane ( not O.C). Few months back I invested in XFX HD 6670 for gaming. Now PC is used most of time for doing light work and during week ends for gaming. Hwmonitor / core temp shows around 38 deg C at idle and 58~ 62 deg C during gaming ( different for different games). During prime95 small FFT test, it reached 65 C in 10 min.

Few weeks back I had removed my HSF for cleaning. While doing so I had removed already dried Thermal compound from heatsink and fan. I applied a cheaper thermal compound used for electronic purposes. After doing so I dint find much difference in min & max temps.

Guys, here is what I want to ask:

1. Are my temperatures Ok?

2. Is my Stock HSF sufficient during gaming?

3. If not, will changing thermal compound and HSF to something like cooler master hyper 101 ( I have a small cabinet) , will make much difference ?

Configuration which I am having now is almost 3 yrs old. I intend to use same for a year or so before investing in new CPU MOBO. I have read couple of discussions and articles, about faulty temperature sensors in brisbane series CPU.

Temps seem ok. The stock HSF will be fine unless you are going to be overclocking or if you can't stand the amount of noise it makes.
