I am in no way just looking at gigabyte boards, im open to all brands. the prices look good, its just gonna be a gaming rig. and no to intensive of gaming at that.

Any of the boards listed on this page are great, the UD5P being the best (and most expensive) I have had some pretty good luck with the biostar T-series boards. (ta790gx A2+) They are cheap and clock pretty well. If you dont need onboard graphics, then you would be better off with a 790FX chipset.

Personally I would pick the MSI 790FX GD-70 , I tried GB sold it bought the MSI, it has been fantastic with a 955 if you are planning to go DDR3. I am running some killa Mushkin DDR3 7,6,7,18 timings PC12800, system flies, board was a bit pricey but reviews all agree it is excellent and I plan to keep for a while anywho

I was looking at building a system on that same CPU :) I was thinking of this board BIOSTAR TA790GXB3 I know it has on-board graphics but it is 79.99 and supports DDR3. Any thoughts?

To the OP you are looking at the Black Edition 720 right?
