I have a DFI Infinity NFII-M2 board sitting around that I was hoping to put linux on. But the computer doesn't recognize that a usb flash drive is plugged in. Has anyone ever booted to a usb drive with this board? Was booting to usb a feature that a lot of boards didn't have back then?

That INF NF2-M2 had an NF4 chipset and choice in bios to boot from network, so I do not see why it would not boot from a correctly formatted Usb Stick.

During boot where you would normally press the DELete key to enter the bios, instead press the ESCape key and doing so should bring up quickboot menu. Look there for your Usb stick and make the choice there.
