Can i buy a mac monitor and use it on my PC?

its an apple 23 inch hd screen taken from a mac

will it work on my x800xl or will it need a converter

or should i not bother

?

thanks

You can. There are two versions of the 23". The old one has an ADC connector, so you'll need an ADC <-> DVI cable (or adapter). The newer one is DVI.

so as its the other way round it cost 10 times more what a rip off

Yes, you probably could.

That was just the first one google pulled up.

You could even make one if you wanted. There is no signal conversion, its just DVI + USB on one cable.

But first find out if the screen has an ADC or DVI connector.
