just got a new Q6600, trying to make sure I got a GO stepping chip before I install, is there anyway? It is an OEM chip so no box. I am trying to read what I think is the lot # on the chip but not getting anything on google, not sure if I am reading it right, anyone know if I can tell? I think the lot # is L810B024

Assuming it's not a retail box(If it were it'd say stepping GO on the outside) I'm going to say that it is a GO as, unless I'm mistaken, all new Q6600's are GO stepping.

Take a look on the numbers on the box near where you see the lot number.

A bunch of letters/numbers ending in SLACR - G0; SL9UM - B3.

If it's acquired only recently, I'd be willing to bet it's a G0 already.

great thanks guys! I know all new Q6600's are GO, but being OEM I was just worried that maybe it was sitting around for awhile or is old stock from somewhere, I think I'm good though. Can't see what it says on the GO I already have, copper mirror finish took that away...
