Can temp go any lower with fan cooling?

Well I took the hsf off, wiped clean the as5 and reapply a lil bit more than 1/3 of a bb, reseated the hs and turned on the comp. Wow the thing shot up 2-4c idle, haha I'm running out of idea on what to try now. hmmm maybe switching the back exhaust to blow in and having only blowhole sucking air out....

Well the instructions say: "P4- About the size of an uncooked grain of short-grain white rice or 1/2 of a BB." Perhaps you haven't put quite enough A5 on?

Aye the instruction does say that but that is for an unlapped heatsink, it said if you got a lapped hs you should use less. Well time to experiment some more.

I think I’ve hit the wall on cooling with my rig as far as the setup I have right now. Tried reapplying the as5 according to website, same result as when I put a little because of lapped heatsink. The funny thing is the heatsink isn’t cool or warm to the touch even at 50c, but if the heatsink isn’t making proper contact wouldn’t the CPU heat up much more than that and when at idle? I’ve tried reseating the heatsink several times and each time is the same result also. I’m thinking of removing the TT duct and install the sunbeam duct, but I have to move the side fan to the outside of the side panel in order to have enough room to make it work. You guys think that would help lower the CPU temp some more or is it a fruitless effort?

DBZ, not sure what a "tt" duct is or a "sunbeam" but have you tried this

I added this duct along with a 80MM fan inside it and that is when my temps dropped like a rock

here is a picture of the mod

Like I posted above my temps overclocked using a sp-94 are 42C idle, 48 gaming and 54 benchmarking.( As Reported by Speed Fan.

The SP-94 really did not make to much difference over the stock HSF.
I just think you need to feed the HSF the coolest air possible

Good Luck

Dave

the TT duct just eliminate the deadspot in the middle of the heatsink but still sucking air from inside the case to do it, the sunbeam kit on the other hand bring outside air directly onto the heatsink.
