I recently put together a new computer, and everything is working fine, except that the RAM will not run at the speed it should. I have this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231666 Which should be running at 2400 Mhz, but it will only boot at 1066 Mhz. If I try any higher it doesn't POST. I'm wondering if there's something I could do to fix it, or if the RAM is just incompatible and I need to exchange it. For the record, I have this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981 and I have tried updating the BIOS as well, which didn't fix this.

Did you check the RAM compatibility list for your motherboard?

I just checked and it appears that although my specific model is not on there, there are other G.Skill models with similar specs, including one which is basically the same RAM with a fan on top.

Just tested, it works at 1.65v at 1066. I tried setting the CAS to the recommended 11-13-13-31-1T as well, which works at 1066 (not surprisingly, it was set lower before). However, if I try to bump it up even to 1333, it refuses to POST. The memory isn't hot either, so overheating is likely not the problem.

I would try RMAing the set of RAM. Do you have another set you can try first?
