I recently picked up my first 2x8GB kit of DRAM... The Corsair Dom. Plat. 1600C9 ver.4.29 (MFR ic).

A couple of quick tests overclocking this kit. Running in tandem with a single-sided kit (MFR ic) of Team 2666C11.

Tighten up the primary timings a little more...

Good for you that's Hynix. I saw various IC in Corsair memory lately and I would count more on Micron in these lower series.
I think that good MFR are not so common recently. Most manufacturers are relaxing timings for 2133+ kits even though they're still using MFR in most of them.

Did you try CL9 ? ... or something like 2600/2666 11-13-13/12-13-13. I've noticed that these new MFR will faster make 2666 12-13-13 / 2800 12-14-14 than 2600 11-13-13.

I bought this kit in the forum "Classifieds" and it has 1334 date code... 2013 week 34. The Previous owner said he bought them direct from Corsair (9/4/13).

They don't seem to boot at 2133C9, 2400C10 or 2600C11.

It's about the same as most 1866 C10, 2133 C10 and 2400 C11 kits based on CFR/MFR. I had similar results with ARES 2400 C11, RipjawsX 2133 C10 or HyperX Fury 1866 C10. All of them couldn't make 2600/2666 C11 regardless of other timings or voltages but could run @2666 or 2800 C12-14-14 ~1.65-1.75V.
New Dominators Platinum 2666 are also C12 but some of them can make 2400 C10.

I have no new memory kits lately. I don't really want to buy any as I still have about 15 kits at home and soon will be DDR4. Also manufacturers are focusing on DDR4 so there are no new DDR3 series except already tested HyperX Fury ( which is pretty nice for the price ).
