Ok so the frequency is going as you can see here from 1600 to 2900 or so, which I assumed could be cpu scaling down because it isn't being used....but I swear I saw 3 times now (having trouble capturing a screen of it) the cpu frequency skyrocket to like 4092323 then jump back down, for like a second.

EDIT: Coretemp has a known issue of displaying extremely high numbers on intel processors, so I doubt that's it.

The Memory Management Blue Screen

Update: I also just noticed one of my case fans LED keeps shutting off then a few minutes later goes on again. Could this be indicating not enough power or something? I'd think 1200w is more than enough for this....

I just tried plugging the case fan into one of the motherboard slots, it was currently getting power through a rail I designated for fans. It won't power on at all if I plug it into the motherboard. could this mean the motherboard isn't getting enough power? I have a 12 or 14 pin (forgot how many) and an 8 pin connection already feeding into the motherboard. would it be safe to plug in an 8 pin PCI-E rail from the power supply into the motherboard instead of the existing 8-pin that was designated for the motherboard?

UPDATE: I just did a DXDIAG and noticed my computer started only detecting 4gb of RAM! It was at 6 yesterday. Something is wrong here!

here is what pops up in windows after my memory management bluescreen:

get the dominator memory its alot better specialy for overclocking

thanks for the advice I'd rather not buy new memory though considering I literally just paid for this set.

I guess I'll see my memory's true stability once the good stick arrives (assuming that that bad stick was my only problem...i'll assume 48 hours without a blue screen would be a safe bet to say i'm fixed)

and I literally can't turn my motherboard QPI to 1.9. The maximum is 1.7....where are you getting these numbers from?

Sorry to semi hijack, but I have dominator CMD4GX3M2B1600C8 RAM which is similar to the OP, but lower latency.

Been trying to get this working at 1600 when overclocking my AMD 965. Things seem well, then I get Prime blend rounding errors, or sometimes BSODs.

I have been running the RAM at 1.65v as per spec, would increasing it to something like 1.9v add stability, even though the RAM isn't actually overclocked, just trying to run at spec.
