DirectX Problems

I installed WinXP Pro with SP2 on this newly built computer, listed below.

Now I'm having errors with DirectX. My games, such as Prince of Persia, don't seem to recognize it, but whenever I attempt to install it, it says I already HAVE DX9.0c. How do I reinstall DX or fix this??

...seein how no one else has an opinion, I'll offer mine...

...go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel, and remove SP2, and see if that fixes your prob. Dunno if you can just restore to a point before you installed SP2, never tried it out, I just dumped SP2, and ALL my probs were fixed...

...then again, I run an old DFI mobo, with an 1100 Celery@1134, so I'm not exactly up to spec when it comes to SP2...
