Hi there, I haven't done this before, so please dumb it down haha

My problem is I don't know how to use dual channel, and CPU-Z is reading a slower ram?

This is my setup:

MB: Asus M4A78-EM
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition Dual Core Processor Socket AM2+ 2.7GHZ 3MB 65NM 95W Retail Box
MEMORY: Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X4096-8500C5 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Memory Kit

OS: Windows 7.0

I took a picture of how I installed the ram, I put 1 dimm into each memory channel like in the picture, and CPU-Z shows me i am running Channels #: Single

When i shutdown and put both dimms in one channel, CPU-Z shows: Dual.

??

also, from the pic i got:
Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X4096-8500C5 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Memory Kit

but CPU-Z says PC2-6400 (400Mhz)

the bios is with all default settings
I tried setting timmings to 5-5-5-15
but that did not change anything

If you have any helpful tips please share

According to the manual I found online for your Mobo, The ram must bee in either both yellow or both black slots to run in dual channel mode. If one is in each color it will not run in dual channel mode, both stick must be in the same colored slots.

ahhaha I'm an iddiot. thanks for helping me with that.

CPUZ is saying PC2 6400 @ 400mhz, is the ram i have running properly?

IT is running properly , it running at jedec standard , but not to it full potential , to have it run on spec 1066 mhz ,give it proper voltage which should be displayed on the packaging , most likely 2.1 volts , then set the dram frequency at 533 mhz
