I have A rig that runs 32 gigs of DDR4 dual channel ram.
I have A kit of faster 64 gigs ddr4 quad channel ram.
should I expect any performance hit running quad channel in a dual channel rig?
I know DDR4 memory is interchangeable, dual to quad channel and timings effect stuffs and, of course it will run as dual channel.

Nope.

Though note, running more capacity/sticks can limit the top end speed. In other words you can generally run two sticks and less capacity faster than 4 and more capacity as the latter adds more stress to the IMC.

In this case it probably wont make a difference as 16GB modules are likely dual rank, but in some use cases running two single rank modules per channel can give a nice boost in performance compared to a single rank module per channel. I don't have data if going beyond 2 rank per channel provides any further benefit.
